Strong Storms Possible On Friday

The remnants of Laura will be moving northeast across the Tennessee Valley Region on Friday. The close proximity to the system will allow conditions to become favorable for severe storms.

The National Weather Service has added a slight risk area across Northeast Alabama. Right now, all of Cherokee and Calhoun Counties are in the Marginal Risk area for severe storms with the main threat being possible tornadoes and damaging winds up to 60 miles per hour.

Portions of Etowah County are in the Slight Risk area.

The main time frame is generally from noon Friday through 10 pm Friday night.
