81 Year Old Dies in Calhoun County Crash Over the Weekend

An elderly Ohatchee man was fatally injured in a two-vehicle collision on Alabama 144 over the weekend. 

Norris William Parton, age 81, was pronounced dead at the scene around 5:00pm Saturday, after the 2001 Ford Ranger in the riding in collided with a 2001 Honda Accord.  According to Alabama State Trooper reports, the Ranger was in the process of turning onto Boiling Spring Road when it was struck by the Accord, which was traveling east on 144; the crash took place near Vulcan Materials Company, approximately five miles east of Ohatchee

Both drivers were taken to Northeast Alabama Regional Medical Center for treatment.  Parton reportedly was not wearing his seat belt.

The accident remains under investigation by the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency, and no additional information is being released at this time.
