An 84 year old Anniston woman was killed when her vehicle collided with a pickup truck in Calhoun County Wednesday afternoon.
According to the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency accident report the collision involved a 1999 Mazda 626 driven by Hazel Badgett and a 2009 Chevy Silverado driven by 21 year old Shannon Alan Vanegas. Vanegas was taken to Gadsden Regional Medical Center for treatment of what was referred to as non-life threatening injuries; Badgett was pronounced dead at the scene. The collision took place at 1:49pm on Alabama Highway 204, approximately five miles west of Jacksonville.
That accident remains under investigation by Alabama State Troopers.
