A two-vehicle accident occurring at around 12:25pm Saturday (June 5th) claimed the life of a Dutton man.
Jessie Calvin Mount, age 89, was fatally injured when the 2006 Buick Rendezvous he was driving struck a 2013 Dodge Ram that was backing from a private driveway. The Buick then left the roadway and struck a tree; Mount, who was not using his seat belt, was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the Dodge, listed on the report as a juvenile male from Scottsboro, was not injured.
The crash occurred on Alabama Highway 71, near Jackson County 408 approximately two miles south of Dutton.
Troopers of the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency Highway Patrol Division continue to investigate.
