A Man, His Dogs And A Sled; Georgie Cutright Completes His Journey To Venice Beach, California

When WEIS Radio first met Georgie Cutright a little over a year ago between Centre and Cedar Bluff, he was traveling from Knoxville, Tennessee to Venice Beach traveling through Centre, Cedar Bluff, and Gadsden and onto California with a lawn chair attached to a skate board pulled by his two Huskies Sarah and Lobos.

Now, just over a year later Georgie has completed his trek across the country and has in fact found his way back to Alabama, the place he intends on calling home.

We spoke with Georgie by phone on Wednesday afternoon and he told us that when you put God first there is nothing that is impossible –

The adventure was not complete without first facing some adversity however; near the end of his journey Georgie’s dog Sarah became pregnant which prompted him to have to quickly complete his trip to California and return to Alabama so that she could have puppies. Shortly after delivering her pups, Sarah was hit by a car and was at one point dead before Georgie administered CPR reviving her and rushing her to a nearby emergency vet clinic.

Georgie said that had it not been for the generosity of two particular individuals he would have never been able to pay that vet bill.

Georgie now resides in Springville situated on a one acre plot of land near the Springville exit. Cutright said that a gentleman graciously allowed him to occupy the one acre plot where he plans to cultivate the land with a fresh fruit and vegetable garden and sale those at a local produce stand.

Cutright said that he has also acquired a job at a local nursery as a Gardner.

Georgie is asking those that have supported him and the pups along the way to show up at the location where he is staying at 1:00 on Sunday where a local news station will be doing do a story on what has been accomplished through the support of the community to change a man’s future. Please come and show us support.
