AAA Says Gas Prices Could Spike 10-25 Cents Due To The Recent Attacks On Oil Fields In Saudi Arabia

After months of relatively low gas prices, experts are encouraging drivers to fill their gas tanks up before prices due to the recent attacks on oil fields in Saudi Arabia. According to AAA, the current average price for a gallon of gas nationwide is $2.56. However, a hike from 10 to 25 cents per gallon during the next few weeks is expected.

Oil prices rose above $60 per barrel following the attacks but since the U.S. has become less dependent on Saudi Arabian oil, Americans aren’t expected to be heavily impacted. In the first half of this year, the U.S. imported fewer than half the amount of barrels each day from Saudi Arabia than it did two years ago.
