Accident Report on 18 Wheeler Wreck Released; Troopers Work Two Other Accidents With Injuries Over Weekend

The accident report on last Friday’s 18 wheeler wreck in Blanche has been released.

The 2016 Freightliner crashed and rolled over, coming to rest upside down by the roadside, at the intersection of Highway 35 and County Road 15 around 6:45 that morning.

The driver, 59 year old Rinaldo Lucchesi of a Sebastian, Florida address, was injured in that crash; however no additional information was made available regarding the extent of those injuries.  Fortunately, no other vehicles were involved.

The cause of that accident remains under investigation by state troopers.

Alabama State Troopers responded to two separate single-vehicle accidents with injuries in Cherokee County on Saturday.

The first involved a 2014 Chevrolet being driven by a 20 year old Piedmont resident, Alexis Major, on County Road 29 approximately eleven miles north of Centre, at 1:05am.  Both she and a one year old child were listed on the report as being hurt in the mishap.

The report noted that Major was wearing a seatbelt and the child was properly restrained.

The second accident took place at 7:08 that evening on County Road 3, seven miles north of Leesburg, and involved a 1999 Buick driven by 31 year old Devin Graves of Ft Payne.

The report indicated that Graves was wearing his seatbelt.

No additional information was available regarding the condition of any of those involved in either wreck.

Both accidents remain under investigation by Alabama State Troopers.
