Additional charges have now been filed against a 68 year old DeKalb County resident who stands accused of having sexual contact with a 15 year old girl.

An investigation into the matter recently resulted in the arrest of Robert Carl Bannon – on a list of charges including Possession of Obscene Matter, Contributing to the Delinquency of a minor, Obstruction of Governmental Operations, and Receiving Stolen Property 3rd Degree – he has now been charged with Rape 2nd Degree and two counts of Sodomy 2nd Degree as well.

Bannon was also allegedly in possession of a stolen pistol at the time of his arrest.

DeKalb County Sheriff Jimmy Harris issued a statement thanking surrounding departments and DHR for their assistance in bringing Bannon to justice.

The investigation is on-going with assistance being provided by the Crossville PD.
