Additional Information Released on Three Individuals Arrested Following Brief Pursuit Tuesday Evening

Additional information has now been released on three individuals arrested by Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office Deputies Tuesday evening following a brief pursuit. Deputies attempted to stop a vehicle on Highway 9 south when the driver attempted to flee the scene, with the suspects tossing illegal drugs and paraphernalia out the window before the pursuit ended.  I

Investigators recovered the items along with additional methamphetamine and heroin. The three individuals in the vehicle were taken into custody on multiple charges, including two counts of unlawful possession of a controlled substance, unlawful possession of marijuana, unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia, tampering with physical evidence, attempting to elude and resisting arrest.

Marvin Floyd Fortenberry, 50, Chadwick Scott Phillips, 43, and Kenneth Derek Kennedy, 47, all of Piedmont, were transported to the Cherokee County Detention Center.
