ADPH Reports 1,220 New Confirmed Cases of COVID-19 Statewide Between Monday and Tuesday

The Alabama Department of Public Health data released Tuesday (August 18th), showed an increase of 1,220 confirmed cases of coronavirus statewide bringing the cumulative total to 105,815 with the death toll from COVID-19, climbing to a total of 1,867, since March 13th of this year.

Cherokee County has so far seen a total of 313 confirmed cases with another 34 being listed as “probable” and one death being attributed to the illness, bringing the total to eight – with one other listed as “probable” in that category. 

Numbers in neighboring counties are as follows:

Calhoun – 1,982 confirmed cases with 23 deaths;

Cleburne – 148 confirmed cases with 1 death;

DeKalb – 1,932 confirmed cases with 14 deaths;

Etowah – 2,336 confirmed cases with 36 deaths.

The total number of people, who at one point had to be hospitalized, stands at 12,958.

The number of presumed recoveries statewide currently stands at 41,523.
