The AL.com prep volleyball rankings were released Thursday afternoon. Southside-Gadsden remained at No. 9 among Class 5A squads. In Class 4A, Guntersville and Jacksonville are No. 1 and 2 respectively for the second week in a row. Alexandria is posted as the No. 10 team in 4A. Class 3A Piedmont and White Plains are receiving consideration in Class 3A where Geraldine currently holds the No. 7 spot. . In Class 2A its West End and Sand Rock in the No. 3 and No. 6 positions while Pleasant Valley and Ohatchee are numbers 8 and 9. In Class 1A, there is no change for area teams as Donoho is No. 2, Spring Garden No. 4 and Sacred Heart No. 9.
There were no changes among the top-ranked teams this week as McGill-Toolen rules Class 6A, St. Paul’s is the best in Class 5A, Guntersville retains the premier spot in Class 4A, Bayside Academy sits atop the teams in Class 3A, Montgomery Academy is No. 1 in Class 2A and Addison is a solid pick in Class 1A.
