Alabama Adds Slightly Under 2,500 New Cases of COVID-19 Going from Monday into Tuesday

Alabama added just under 2,500 new cases of COVID-19 going from Monday into Tuesday.

The Alabama Department of Public Health data released early Tuesday morning showed an increase of 2,495 cases – bringing the state’s total since last March to 426,523.  The ADPH also added five deaths, to bring that total to 6,126.  A total of 2,798 hospitalizations were reported; that’s up from 2,654 from the day before.  A pandemic-long high of 3,077 was posted at the beginning of January.

Here in Cherokee County, according to the ADPH, we’ve now seen a total of 1,609 cases of COVID-19 since March 13th of last year – 1,064 confirmed, 545 listed as probable. 

Countywide we’ve had a total of 30 deaths – with 25 confirmed as being COVID-related, and 5 listed as probable.
