Alabama Breaks Unemployment Record Numbers

Alabama breaks unemployment record numbers as people are in the labor force and working, along with a record high job count and a record low unemployment rate. According to May 2019 economic data, each of the state’s 67 counties saw their unemployment rates drop. Overall, Alabama’s unemployment rate dropped to 3.7%, down from April’s rate of 3.8%.

May’s rate is now tied with March and February’s rate for lowest unemployment rate in state history. Governor Kay Ivey says she is proud of the footing Alabama is making, and it will continue to ensure every Alabamian who wants a job, can get one.
