Alabama Concert in Ft Payne Draws Overflow Crowd

Randy

The parking lot of the Alabama Fan Club was packed Sunday afternoon, as the band staged their first full-scale concert in DeKalb County since the final June Jam back in 1997.

The FREE concert was the cap to “Fan Appreciation Week” which included various other shows and special events, featuring Randy Owen, Jeff Cook and Teddy Gentry – with funds from those special events going to help the needy in the county.

Good weather played a part in the turnout of the overflow crowd – and those in attendance were happy to have the band back on stage – as they went through a list of #1 songs and fan favorites spanning their entire 40 year career, which included a run of 21 straight #1 hit singles and a total of more than 73 million albums sold to date.

Alabama lead guitarist Jeff Cook recently spoke with WEIS Radio News and he informed us that the band has several new projects in the works – including a new concert DVD, a gospel album and a brand new Alabama country album in the not-too-distant future.
