Man Picked Up in Rome, Georgia on Active Warrants Out of Alabama

A Trenton, Georgia man, with active warrants out of Alabama – was arrested in Rome this week after he was found with drugs while picking up lost items on the side of the highway.  Authorities say they encountered 31 year old Nicholas Gene Ellison as he was picking up property that had fallen from his truck on Georgia 20; they soon discovered there were active warrants for Ellison from DeKalb County Alabama.

A search of Ellison turned up a pipe containing smoked marijuana as well as a plastic bag containing suspected methamphetamine.  Ellison was charged with unlawful possession of methamphetamine, with possession of drug-related objects, possession of marijuana, and being a fugitive from Justice.
