Alabama Man Struck and Killed by Car on Highway 27 in Floyd County Thursday Night

The Georgia State Patrol Post in Rome is currently investigating the death of a pedestrian in a fatal accident occurring Thursday night.  An Alabama man – now identified as 29 year old Dustin McCay of Lineville – was walking on Highway 27 when he was struck by a car driven by 19 year old Rome resident, Ashlynn Pattison.  According to reports, Pattison was driving southbound in the left lane when she struck McCay, who was walking on or near the road – another man, who was walking with McCay, was not hurt.

Pattison was taken to a Rome area hospital for evaluation following the accident.  The GSP says no charges are expected to be filed in connection with the incident.
