Alabama Man Transferred to Rome, Georgia on Several Warrants

A Gadsden man was transferred from the Calhoun County, Alabama Jail to the Floyd County Jail last week on warrants charging him with theft by receiving stolen property, concealing the identity of a vehicle and fleeing or attempting to elude.

Joie Gowens, age 57, was arrested back on July 13th of this year in Cave Spring for driving a stolen vehicle.  According to reports, Gowens had failed to stop for a stop sign, and as police attempted to pull him over, he attempted to flee.

When he was finally stopped, officers discovered he was driving without a valid license and had a license not registered to the vehicle he was driving, which was considered an attempt to conceal the identity of the stolen vehicle.
