Troopers Respond to Two Accidents Minutes Apart on Wednesday Morning in Cherokee County / UPDATED

Alabama State Troopers along with other emergency personnel, responded to two separate accidents occurring within just moments of each other on Wednesday morning in Cherokee County.

The first was a single-vehicle rollover taking place on County Road 147 off of 273 outside of Leesburg at approximately 9:00am.  Fortunately no one was injured in the mishap although the vehicle received significant damage.

Just moments later at approximately 9:10 a two-vehicle wreck involving an 18 wheeler and a Jeep Grand Cherokee took place a short distance away in Sand Rock, on Highway 68 West, near County Road 151.

Rather than being involved in a collision the two vehicles apparently sideswiped each other leading to damage being done to the passenger side of the Jeep resulting in the driver being injured.  He was listed on the report as 58 year old Fred Goodwin of a Gaylesville address – the driver of the 1990 Kenworth 42 year old Jason Weaver of Heflin, was unhurt.

The cause of that accident remains under investigation by state troopers.
