Albertville Head Football Coach Joel Poole has resigned, amid unspecified allegations that were made regarding an incident reportedly taking place during a football practice, back in October.

An investigation into those allegations was launched around that time; however, according to WAFF TV48, school officials are not saying if the investigation has been concluded, or if the findings were presented to Poole prior to his resignation.

Superintended Ric Ayer said Poole will transfer from the high school where he coached – to the alternative school where he will serve as a teacher facilitator.

Poole had been placed on leave with pay in mid-October; the superintendent said only that the allegations were a school matter and not a criminal matter.

An immediate search for a new football coach is planned.
