The DeKalb County softball coaches recently selected their all-county softball team.
Plainview’s Tessa Word was chosen the overall Most Valuable Player. Collinsville’s Caroline Brannon and Plainview’s Elaine Puckett share the Offensive MVP honor. Defensive MVP is Plainview’s Lily Boswell. Coach of the Year went to Plainview’s Jeff Brooks.
Plainview leads the squad with six selections. In addition to Word, Puckett and Boswell, the Lady Bears are represented by Mia Tidmore, Halle Brown and Hannah Regula.
Collinsville had three selections in Brannon, Kayla Beene and Emma Terrell.
Sylvania and Geraldine also had three players earn recognition. Representing Sylvania is Kenadie Lee, Anna Farmer and Molly Weaver. Chosen from Geraldine is Lydia West, Gracie Johnson and Jaden Dismuke.
Kylee Elkins and Lydia Crane were selected from Valley Head.
