Altercation on Terrapin Creek Led To Shots Being Fired On Saturday

WEIS Radio News has obtained information concerning an apparent disagreement involving two parties on Terrapin Creek on Saturday (June, 5th, 2021).

According to officials with the Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office, an apparent verbal altercation led to one man hitting another man with a boat paddle across the side of the head and in the face causing injury; the victim then pulled a gun and fired several shots at his aggressor.

Fortunately, it appears that nobody was shot.

There have been numerous accounts as to what initially caused the incident.

We have obtained copies of the incident/offense reports, filed by both parties, from the Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office.

At this time, no names have been released nor have any arrests been made, because no formal criminal charges have been filed. One party involved is from Tennessee, while the other involved is from Georgia.

We are following this story and will provide any updates should any arrests be made.
