Amazon Studios exec takes leave after sexual harassment accusation

WireImage/Paul Zimmerman(NEW YORK) — A top Amazon executive — Roy Price, VP of Amazon Studios and global head of Prime Video content — is taking a leave of absence from the company after a producer accused him of sexual harassment in an interview.

“Roy Price is on leave of absence effective immediately,” reads a statement from Amazon released Thursday.

Isa Hackett, an executive producer of the Amazon series The Man in the High Castle, detailed her accusations in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter on Thursday, saying Price repeated propositioned her lewdly at Comic Con in San Diego in 2015. Tech industry website The Information, reported in August that Hackett had complained to Amazon and that the company had hired an outside investigator to look into the claims.

A spokesman for Price declined to comment for The Hollywood Reporter story Thursday.

In the statement Thursday Amazon also wrote, “We are reviewing our options for the projects we have with The Weinstein Co.” According to The Hollywood Reporter, Amazon has two projects in development with The Weinstein Company — The Romanoffs, which has already begun production, and a still untitled drama from director David O. Russell.
