AMC to Air Two-Hour "Walking Dead" Retrospective

Gene Page/AMC(NEW YORK) — In case you missed some episodes — or are very, very late to the game when it comes to the most-watched show on TV — AMC is “gonna get you up to speed shortly” on The Walking Dead, to paraphrase bat-wielding baddie Negan.

October 16, AMC will air a two-hour retrospective, a week before the series’ anticipated season seven premiere.

The Walking Dead: Journey So Far promises to let fans “get up close and personal with the cast as they tell the stories of their characters from the moment they were introduced to where they were when last season ended” — which is, for most of them, on their knees awaiting the business end of Lucille, Negan’s barbed wire-covered bat.

The series, which ended last season with a cliffhanger as to which hero Jeffery Dean Morgan’s Negan dispatched, returns to answer that agonizing question Sunday, October 23 at 9 p.m.

The special will serve to catch up the unfamiliar, and also also get die-hards psyched for the show’s season premiere.

While nothing’s yet known concerning whom Negan kills, AMC revealed, “The first half of season seven sees the group fractured, broken, bereaved, and picking up the pieces…brutally convincing them to live under his rules with a deadly and horrific example of what happens if they don’t.”
