Amy Jeanette Whorton, age 85 of Centre, passed away Friday, December 15th at Redmond Regional Medical Center.
Funeral services will be 2:PM Sunday, December 17th at Perry Funeral Home Chapel, with Dr. Roger Whorton officiating; burial will follow in Friendship cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12 until 2:PM Sunday, at the funeral home.
Pallbearers include David Cox, Jim Webster, Kenneth Dobbs, Joe Yarbrough, Michael Peek, Tim Bell.
Survivors include her daughter, Melody (Vidal) Fernandez of Rome, GA; 3 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren; one chosen granddaughter and 6 chosen great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Connor Whorton; son, Dennis Whorton; brothers, Fred and Travis Tolbert; sister, Edith Welchel.
Mrs. Whorton was a native of Cherokee County, the daughter of the late Fred Lee and Ruthie Dell Baldwin Tolbert and was of the Baptist faith.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Friendship Baptist Church Cemetery Fund.
