Amy Nixon Announces Run for Superintendent of Education

Amy (Kelley) Nixon Welcomes All of Cherokee County to Join Her Campaign for Superintendent of Education

Amy Nixon recently spoke at the Republican dinner party where she announced her candidacy for Cherokee County Superintendent of Education.

Mrs. Nixon is a native of Cherokee County. She said she was “born here, raised here, graduated here, has always lived here, and now wants to improve education pathways for future generations here.”

Mrs. Nixon is currently in her twenty-third year in education and holds a Specialist degree. She is campaigning for this office because she wants to add and improve career tech pathways while making sure both your sons and daughters have equal opportunities; work with surrounding colleges and universities to make dual enrollment available to all students while finding early enrollment scholarship opportunities and financial aid; and work unitedly with the board elects, business leaders, and community to wisely spend funds to improve safety, career opportunities, and building projects.

However, most importantly, Mrs. Nixon wants to ensure a sense of pride in children.  She wants everyone to work together so that all kids walk into the school and feel excited and proud to be there and thankful to be in a place where they know someone cares about them, and Mrs. Nixon emphasizes ALL kids!
