In what can only be described as “one of the worst decisions you can possibly make when you’re behind bars” – a 46 year old Anniston City jail inmate, decided to bite an officer, during a scuffle last Friday (January 3rd).

Anniston Police Captain Allen George told the Anniston Star, that Terrell Lee Laird, Jr. had been in the city jail since December 23rd, after being arrested on an outstanding warrant.  The incident on Friday, began when Laird allegedly became disruptive – as the officer was attempting to place him in a restraint chair, Laird bit him in the left forearm.

The officer was treated at Regional Medical Center and returned to work the same day.

Laird was charged with Assault on a Police Officer 2nd Degree, and has a court date of February 13th.
