Anniston City Jailer Now Behind Bars

A former Anniston city jailer found himself on the other side of the bars after being accused of sexual misconduct with an inmate.  The female inmate reported that alleged incident to a female corrections officer and afterwards according to Police Chief Shane Denham, a formal complaint was filed.

An investigation was conducted and evidence was presented to the Calhoun County District Attorney’s Office; a warrant was issued for Custodial Sexual Misconduct – which is a Class C felony; 28 year old Jonathan Common reportedly admitted to the wrongdoing and was fired immediately.  He is currently being held without bond.

The name of the inmate has not been released and details surrounding the situation haven’t been released at this point.
