Anniston Woman Dies in Three-Vehicle Accident On Highway 144 East of Ohatchee

Information has now been released regarding a three-vehicle accident that claimed the life of a 21 year old Anniston woman last Thursday.  According to the accident report issued by the Jacksonville Post of the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency, that wreck occurred around a mile east of Ohatchee, when Kaylia Jordania Stark, traveling west on Highway 144, was in the process of turning left onto Boiling Springs Road.

As she was attempting to make the turn, her 2016 Nissan Versa was struck from behind by a 2016 Chevy Equinox – with the impact pushing her vehicle into the eastbound lane of 144 and into the path of an oncoming Humvee, belonging to the Alabama National Guard.

Stark, who was not wearing a seat belt, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Both the driver of the Equinox, Jessica McClain from Glencoe, and the driver of the Humvee, Alan Spears of New Hope, escaped injury.  No additional information is being released at this time meanwhile the incident remains under investigation by Alabama State Troopers.
