Annual Cherokee Chop 10K/5K Will Take Place Saturday, February 29th.

Whether you are a Warrior, a Tiger, or even from outside of Cherokee County, runners and non-runners alike are invited to come out and support a local teacher who had to medically retire in 2016.

Mrs. Carol Oliphant has taught generations within the Cherokee County community. Through her love of literature, writing, and her students, we have all lived more fulfilled lives because of her.

All proceeds will benefit the original beneficiary of the inaugural 2018 Cherokee Chop 10k/5k–the Oliphant family. Donations are welcome. There is also a 10k virtual runner option. All you have to do is log a 10k through some sort of running app within 2 weeks of the race, send proof to mawilliamson@cherokeek12.org, and we will mail you the 10k finisher’s medal that all 10k participants will receive.

There is also a “sleep in and stay warm” option by which your contribution will earn you a race shirt without having to run in the cold. If you want these mailed to you, please choose that option so that we can collect postage to mail those to you. Otherwise, we will expect you to make arrangements to pick them up.

Overall winners (1st through 3rd) will be named for both the 5k and the 10k in the male and female categories.

Age group awards will be given for the following:

0-9, 10-14, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70+

Let’s get chopping!

Race shirts cannot be guaranteed after February 16th, so sign up before the shirt deadline!

Packet pickup will begin at 8:30 am.
