Annual “Gala at 1920 East Main Street” Event Set for Saturday, February 7th

Gala at 1920WEIS Radio welcomed Lee Bailey and Julie Graves of Centre Middle School to the studios on Thursday morning, where the topic of conversation was the second annual “Gala at 1920 East Main Street” event – coming up Saturday, February 7th.

Julie Graves elaborated on the need for a new field, which includes attracting visitors from around the area to Cherokee County for sporting events held at the site:

Gala 100This year’s gathering will once again feature a silent auction starting at 5:00pm to be followed by supper at 6:00 and a live auction set for 7:00.

This year, the items up for bid include popular favorites with something for everyone:

WEIS Radio will also be offering another “on-air radio experience” – consisting of a day here at WEIS Radio with the winner fulfilling roles ranging from DJ to News Reporter.

Gala 10Last year’s winner was eleven year old MaKenzie Green, who quickly captured the heart of the listening audience with her sense of humor, outgoing personality and her dedication to helping others who, like herself, have battled cancer.

Makenzie Green Fundraiser 1MaKenzie continues to lead her own American Cancer Society Relay for Life Team and take part in a variety of fundraisers for cancer research all throughout the year; she’s doing well and remains an inspiration to others.
