Another Round of Severe Weather Possible on Sunday

The National Weather Service says that there is a “Marginal Risk” for severe weather, overnight Saturday through 3:00pm Sunday – as a front moves from the northwest to the southeast.  Large hail and damaging winds will be the primary threats.

Minor flooding may continue along portions of the Tombigbee, Cahaba, Coosa, Locust Fork, Sucarnoochee and Black Warrior River Basins this weekend and into early next week.

Today / Mostly sunny, with a high near 76. West wind 5 to 10 mph.

Tonight / A slight chance of showers between 1am and 4am, then a chance of showers and thunderstorms after 4am. Partly cloudy, with a low around 54. North wind around 5 mph becoming east after midnight. Chance of precipitation is 30%.

Saturday / A 50 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 81. East wind 5 to 15 mph becoming southwest in the afternoon. New rainfall amounts of less than a tenth of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.

Saturday Night / Showers and thunderstorms likely, mainly after 1am. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 62. South wind 5 to 10 mph, with gusts as high as 20 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60%.

Sunday / Showers and thunderstorms. High near 73. Southwest wind around 10 mph becoming northwest in the afternoon. Winds could gust as high as 25 mph. Chance of precipitation is 90%.

Sunday Night / Mostly cloudy, with a low around 44.

Monday / A 20 percent chance of showers after 1pm. Mostly sunny, with a high near 66.

Monday Night / A 40 percent chance of showers. Partly cloudy, with a low around 47.

Tuesday / A chance of showers, with thunderstorms also possible after 1pm. Partly sunny, with a high near 71. Chance of precipitation is 30%.
