A “Member Services Supervisor” with the Arab Electric Coop is set to be arraigned Tuesday, at the federal courthouse in Huntsville.
John Willis, who worked with the company in collections, is accused of stealing $2.9 million dollars from the utility. He has been an employee there since 1988 however he was placed on unpaid leave back on March 6th of this year (2017) in the wake of irregularities found in a TVA rate and credit audit.
Federal prosecutors are reportedly seeking the forfeiture of Willis’ property for the amount of the alleged embezzlement.
