Area Dentist Arrested on Sexual Abuse and Rape Charges in April, Now Out on Bond

An area dentist, who was arrested on Sexual Abuse and Rape charges – is now out on bond.

Dr. Joseph Clarence Cox, who started the Gadsden Dental Clinic in 2017, was arrested on April 27th (2021) on three counts of Sexual Abuse and on one count of Rape.  That following execution of search warrants the previous day, at both his residence and at his office on Rainbow Drive, according to the Gadsden Police Department.  No additional information was released regarding just what led to the investigation – or what may have been found leading to his arrest.

Cox, 41, was released from the Etowah County Detention Center just prior to 8:00pm Wednesday after making bond, which had been set $100,000.
