Around a Quarter-of-a-Million Dollars Worth of Stolen Property Recovered Thursday

Stolen property, valued at more than a quarter of a million dollars, was recovered Thursday by Cherokee County and Etowah County investigators at a home on Norton Lane just inside Etowah County.

The search warrant was the result of a burglary and theft investigation led by Investigator Jeremy Stepps.  A Jeep Wrangler, a camper, enclosed trailers, utility trailers, ATVs, firearms, and assorted tools were among the many items recovered.

Investigators from both the Cherokee and Etowah County Sheriff’s Offices spent most of the day Thursday processing and taking possession of the stolen goods.  The Cherokee County EMA also provided useful equipment to investigators as they searched a large wooded area around the residence for the stolen items.

Cherokee County Sheriff Jeff Shaver stated that he was happy to be able to return that large amount of stolen property to the rightful owners, adding that the suspect in that case – who has yet to be named – will have charges forthcoming in both counties.
