Arrest Made in Connection with Robbery of Synovus Bank in Rome

An arrest has been made in connection with the robbery of Synovus Bank in West Rome.

Last Tuesday, a white male entered the bank on Shorter Avenue around 3:00pm and demanded money; he made off with $1,000 fleeing on foot toward North Hughes Street.  Bank officials say there was no weapon visible during the robbery and no one was injured.

Michael Brennan Hyde was taken into custody and booked into the Floyd County Jail Saturday – charged with armed robbery.
