The Class 3A Piedmont Bulldogs (16-4) and Class 2A Spring Garden Panthers (14-8) were the biggest movers in this week’s Alabama Sports Writers Association baseball rankings. The latest poll was released early Thursday morning.

Piedmont crept up to No. 2, while Spring Garden moved up to No. 4 in their respective classes. Class 2A Sand Rock (9-4) dropped out of this week’s rankings after being ranked fifth last week. Class 3A Collinsville (11-8) and Class 4A Cherokee County (11-9) continue to receive consideration.

Speaking of Cherokee County, the Lady Warriors (11-8) dropped out of this week’s Class 4A softball rankings. They came in at No. 10 last week. Spring Garden (11-4) and Sand Rock (10-9-1) both hold steady at No. 8 and No. 9 in Class 2A respectively.
