The ASWA weekly high school football poll was recently released and Piedmont remained at No. 2 in Class 3A.    

There were no changes atop any of the six classifications where Hoover retained the top spot in Class 6A, McAdory holds a three point margin over Spanish Fort atop Class 5A, Calera remains at No. 1 in Class 4A for the third week in a row, Madison Academy was a unanimous selection in Class 3A, Washington County is the sports writers top choice in Class 2A, and Pickens County continues as the best in Class 1A.

Area teams will enter week four of the season on Friday evening.  In Class 1A, region co-leader Collinsville is at Sumiton Christian, Coosa Christian visits Spring Garden, Jacksonville Christian journeys to L.D. Bruce Field to meet Cedar Bluff and Gaylesville hosts region co-leader Valley Head.  Class 2A finds Gaston at North Sand Mountain and Sand Rock at Section.   In a battle of unbeaten teams, Class 3A, No. Piedmont hosts Cleveland.  Class 4A Cherokee County is at home.  The Warriors welcome Cleburne County.  Fort Payne makes the drive to Southside-Gadsden in Class 5A.  Etowah is also at home.  The Blue Devils get a visit from Columbia.  In Class 6A, Gadsden City looks for win number two when  Albertville comes to town.
