A 34 year old Etowah County woman was killed in a two-vehicle collision, occurring shortly before 1:00pm Monday.
The victim, identified as Jessica Lynn Sewell from Attalla, was a passenger in a 2002 Dodge Ram that collided with 2006 Peterbilt dump truck on Alabama Highway 179 approximately seven miles south of Boaz. Sewell was pronounced dead at the scene while the driver of the Dodge, Timothy Dillard, Jr., age 32, also of Attalla, was transported to Gadsden Regional for treatment of unspecified injuries.
The driver of the dump truck, and a passenger in the vehicle, both escaped injury.
That wreck remains under investigation by Alabama State Troopers.
