Bain Hammett Plant Sale Held On Saturday In Centre

Saturday was Bain Hammett Day – with a special fundraising “Plant Sale” taking place at Dixie Green on County Road 69 in Centre with all proceeds going for medical expenses.

Four year old Bain was a very active and healthy child until December, 2012 when he was found unresponsive and having seizures.
A CAT scan at Floyd Medical Center revealed several areas of swelling on his brain.

Bain was later transferred to Egleston Children’s Hospital in Atlanta where he spent three weeks in ICU, most of that in a medically induced coma to prevent his brain from seizing.

That was eventually followed by several weeks of rehab therapy at Scottish Rite Hospital – then several additional weeks of rehab conducted at home.
Afterwards doctors and family members were still unsure as to the reason for the seizures.

Bain continues to recover and medical expenses continue to mount – everyone is invited to come out to the plant sale this Saturday and lend a helping hand in his recovery efforts.
