Funeral service for Barney J. King, 84, of Piedmont will be Thursday, December 05, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. at Thompson Funeral Home with the Rev. Bobby Hooper officiating. Burial will follow at Gnatville Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from noon until time of service. Mr. King passed away Monday, December 02, 2019 at Piedmont Health Care Center. Survivors Include three children, Loretta Faye King of Cedar Bluff, Deborah Kay Bryan (Jeffrey) of Fruitland Park, FL, and Thomas Richard King (Kathy) of Piedmont; six grandchildren, Krista Burbank, Ashley Lisenbee (Timothy), Matthew King, Hailey King, Andrew King, and Daniel King; four great grandchildren, Brooke Lisenbee, Dustin King, Brianna Lisenbee, and Jackson King; and three sisters, Farris King, Bobbie Jean Woods (Junior), and Dewanda Kelley (Edward).

Pallbearers will be Matthew King, Andrew King, Daniel King, Timothy Lisenbee, Kevin Sims, and David Evans.

Mr. King was a native and lifelong resident of Cherokee County and was a member of Union Congregational Methodist Church.

He served in the U.S. Air Force and worked at M&H Valve as a machinist for 27 years. Mr. King loved reading the Bible and was a true Christian man. He was preceded in death by his wife, Shelba King.  www.thompsonfuneralhomepiedmont.com
