Best and Worst Days to Drive This Thanksgiving

iStock/Thinkstock(NEW YORK) — When it comes to driving around the Thanksgiving holiday, not all days are created equal. Not even close.

Traffic app Waze has shared with ABC News the best and worst times to hit the road for the holiday weekend. The good news: If you’re traveling on Thanksgiving, Black Friday or the next day, Saturday, you should be in great shape.

Now for the bad news. If you were planning on leaving Wednesday and returning on Sunday, it’s time to rethink your strategy. Waze predicts that Wednesday morning will be OK, but the afternoon and evening will see a 20 percent increase in traffic jams.

If that sounds bad, it’s nothing compared to Sunday, when traffic jams increase by 240 percent.
