Betty Jane Higgins Sewell, age 89 of Leesburg, passed away Tuesday August 11th at her residence.
Graveside services will be 11 AM Friday August 14th at Shiloh-Bothwell Cemetery with Rev. Danny Farley and Bro. Tom Wolf officiating.
Pallbearers include Paul Wayne Sewell, Jerrod Logan Latham, Luke Halbert Sewell, John Michael Sewell, Avery Dawson Foshee, Matthew Jennings Sewell, James Gabriel Sewell, Zachary Judson Foshee, Ben DeWayne Foshee and Jordan Tyler Swing. Honorary Pallbearers include Tom Wolf, Harry Foster, Joey Foster, George Lystlund, William “Bill” Davis, Steven “Stevie” Davis, Jeff Higgins, Dan Higgins, Ernie Higgins and Vernon Sosebee.
Survivors include sons, Gary (Kathy) Sewell of Leesburg and Mike Sewell of Leesburg; daughter, Karen (Alex) Smith of Trussville; daughter-in-law Marcia Sewell; 9 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; many special nieces, nephews and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Wayne Sewell; son, Hal Sewell; brother, Harold (Louise) Higgins; sisters, Geralene (Bill) Brown and Mildred (Waldo) Davis.
Mrs. Sewell was a native of Cherokee County and the daughter of the late Ernest Alford and Vela Idell Richardson Higgins and a member of Shiloh Baptist Church.
