Billy A. Brooks, age 93 of Centre, Al.  was called Home by his Heavenly Father on July 7, 2020 at his residence.

 

Billy was born is 1926 in Cherokee County. He graduated from Cherokee County High School and Auburn University.  He served in the Army attaining the rank of Staff Sergeant where he served the Army Corp of Engineers for over 30 years. He proudly served in WWII. He was also the owner of Brooks Engineering Company. Billy loved his family, God, and his music.

 

Preceding him in death were his parents, Ben and Beulah Brooks; grand-daughters, Amy Cothran and Beverly Franks, and his step-son, Charles Demaggio.

 

Billy is survived by his loving wife of 32 years, Elaine Callaway Brooks, Children: Judy Franks, Joy McCord; their Mother, Virginia Brooks; step-children, Phillip Demaggio and Theresa Teal; four grandchildren, three great grandchildren, one great-great grandchild; six step grandchildren, six step great grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews too numerous to mention but all adored their Uncle Billy. He also leaves behind is devoted dog, Molly.

 

In lieu of flowers, memorial may be made to the Alzheimers Organization, or to Southern Care New Beacon Hospice.

A celebration of life service will be held at a later date and a graveside committal service at Sand Valley Baptist Church, County Road 65, Centre, AL, will be held at a later date.
