Billy Joe “Joey” Johnson, age 66 of Piedmont, passed away Friday, September 25th at his residence.
A visitation will be 6 PM until 8 PM Sunday, September 27th at Perry Funeral Home.
Honorary pallbearers include David McCurdy, Danny Crawford, Grant Ratliff, Melito Luna, Don Mann, Justin DeBerry, Jimmy Griffith, Chris Lindsey, Patrick Campbell, and Wayne Aldridge.
Survivors include wife, Jan Johnson of Piedmont; son, Rodney Lee (Marea) Trotter of Sanford, Michigan; daughter, Jessica Anne (Luke) Bunce of Cartersville, GA; Grandchildren: Hunter, Jacob, Ginger, Cason, Cameron, Caeven, Chasidy (Vaughn), and Jayden (Dylan).
Mr. Johnson was a native of Gadsden, AL and the son of the late Billy Joe Johnson Sr. and Martha Anne (McCullars) Johnson.
He was an alumni of Auburn University, Billy Joe retired from the Farm Service Agency as the County Executive Director for Cherokee Co. District Director for the state of Alabama. After retirement, he enjoyed his time at Critterwoods Farm and being an “Andaddy” to his eight grandchildren.
