In recent days, we have been telling you about critical low levels of blood supplies in the area during this Labor Day Holiday.
On Friday, Cherokee County residents turned out to do their part to help during a Blood Assurance blood drive at the Centre Wal-Mart. Blood Assurance is the sole provider of blood and blood products for 70 heath care facilities, including Cherokee Medical Center.
Felicia Atterton with Blood Assurance said that there were a total of 47 donors and 42 units of blood collected.
If you were not able to make it out to Friday’s blood drive, you can donate anytime by calling Blood Assurance and setting up an appointment at their office in Rome.
