The body of a 61 year old Chattooga County woman was found on Sunday afternoon not far from where she lived in the Hemphill Road area of Teloga.
According to Sheriff Mark Schrader – the body of Joan Cook was discovered northeast of her property, around four-tenths of a mile from her residence, after a couple walking their dogs in the nearby field reported the find to authorities.
The sheriff said Cook, who had been missing since the previous Sunday was a diabetic – and that may have played a role in her death.
The body has been sent to the GBI Crime Lab in Atlanta for an autopsy.
