Bogus Bills Exchanged for Free Ride in Floyd County

Counterfeit_Money 1Rome Police are investigating an incident occurring earlier in the week, during which a taxi driver was paid with counterfeit money.

According to that report, a white male and a white female had been picked up by the cabbie on Cave Spring Street and taken to several locations, finally ending up at Olmstead Street.

The driver was paid with a $100 bill – however, he contacted law enforcement a short time later after determining that the bill was bogus. Police were given a possible address where the couple could be found, but were unsuccessful in locating them.

The counterfeit money was taken into evidence, and the investigation into the matter is on-going.
