An inmate that escaped the Calhoun County Jail is now in custody
According to Sheriff Matthew Wade, 24 year old Demetrius Akles of Anniston escaped from the county jail on Saturday afternoon. Akles was being incarcerated on charges of Burglary 3rd, Possession/Receipt of Stolen Property 4th, and Providing False Information to Law Enforcement.
Just before 7:30 Saturday night, Akles was captured at a location on Skyline Dr. in Anniston.
Sheriff Wade said that he is very proud of his staff, saying “They are dedicated and hard working. I am very blessed with good people.”
