Centre Police Chief Kirk Blankenship has confirmed that the deceased is 66 year old Curtis Junior Bright. The Centre PD is working with the Cherokee County Major Crimes unit on an active Homicide investigation.

WEIS Radio News has confirmed that Investigators with the Centre Police Department, Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office, the JSU Center for Applied Forensics and Cherokee County Major Crimes Unit are currently processing an active crime scene at Joseph’s Family Motors on Cedar Bluff Road in Centre.

Cherokee County Coroner Jeremy Deaton and Chief Deputy Coroner Paul McDonald are also on the scene. No details are being released at this time. Centre Police Chief Kirk Blankenship told WEIS Radio News that additional details will be released as soon as possible.
