Authorities are still searching for the man accused of shooting and killing two individuals in the Tenalla community of Cherokee County early Sunday afternoon.
The victims, according to Cherokee County Coroner Jeremy Deaton, have been identified as Daniel Andrews, and Letitia B. Andrews, both age 48; their bodies were discovered shortly after 1:30pm at a home in the 9000 block of County Road 19.
The man believed to be responsible for the shooting, has now been identified as 30 year old Jeffery Wilcox, Jr.; according to reports he fled the scene in a red 2011 Chevy Silverado pick up, with the Calhoun County license plate number 11FR476.
Calhoun County authorities say Wilcox resides in the northern portion of the county and he works in Anniston.
Cherokee County Sheriff Jeff Shaver, said that the suspect is believed to be the son-in-law of Latisha Andrews and the stepson-in-law of Daniel Andrews. The sheriff went on to say that Wilcox is considered armed and dangerous and should NOT be approached.
Anyone who comes in contact with, or sees Wilcox, should immediately dial 9-1-1.
The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency, the State Fire Marshal, Coroner’s Office, the Center for Applied Forensics at JSU (Jacksonville State University), Deputies from both the Calhoun and Etowah County Sheriff’s Offices and U.S. Marshals are assisting with the investigation.
